RIP Gordon. Thank you for all that you have done to give young people of our local community a positive outlet for their energy. Many lives have been enriched by the boxing club you and your family have run for so long. I’d be lying if I said the amateur team didn’t sigh when we knew you were going to coach a session for us, but we were all the better for it, your medicine ball sessions being the stuff of legend... definitely separated the men from the boys. Wishing you a well earned and peaceful rest and strength to your family at this difficult time. B Hughes

One of life’s true gentlemen - a rare thing in today’s world. He had a wealth of amazing stories from childhood and beyond. He helped anyone and everyone - always with a smile. I am honoured to call him friend.
